Litra Beams getting no ID

Hello,
I have two Litra Beams that I'm trying to control on Windows. Using devices I can see both lamps, but the ID is empty. Using the control commands will only control one of them. I've tried pretty much everything from uninstalling GHub, changing Ports, connecting them seperately, disabling Window Lighting Controls, starting the tool as admin. I can control the second one when unplugging the first one. I just cant get them to show an ID.

I'm seeing this same issue, where my Litra Beam LX does not return a serial number:

Weird! Which OS are you running? I'm guessing it's a Unix OS based on your shell prompt?

If you're on macOS, I'd be interested to see the output of system_profiler SPUSBDataType which might shed some light.

The serial number detection is quite low level, so I'd be surprised if this package was doing something wrong...but never say never.

If we find that there are no serial numbers, then I guess we could build a way of picking and managing a device based on the model (e.g. --device-type litra_beam_lx).

I think that'd be a totally acceptable solution. Or assign an id yourself and allow passing a list of ids, or even just a simple --all-devices flag -- I want to use this with your great https://github.com/timrogers/litra-autotoggle project, but right now it only toggles the one device. :)

Interesting! It really does look like your device doesn't have a serial.

I am open to adding that --device-type argument (or maybe I would call it --model), but I won't have time to do it for a few weeks.

I'm not sure how the option of assigning your own ID would work as you'd need something to bind it to.
