Line selection/highlighting for comments/suggestions in PRs is buggy

When selecting multiple lines for comment or edit suggestion in PR, the first selection takes precedence over all future attempts. Single line commenting/suggestions still work as normal.
This is particularly bad in large PRs where only 1 file at a time is loaded for review, when a multiline selection is triggered the current review file is jumped back to whatever file was first (multiline) commented! Even with multiple files under review (in smaller PRs), the problem is still annoying and makes commenting very difficult.

The behavior you're describing appears to be a known issue with GitHub's PR comment/suggestion UI. Here are some workarounds:

Temporary fixes:

1. Refresh the page after making the first multiline selection before adding subsequent comments
2. Comment on one multiline section at a time - submit each comment individually rather than selecting multiple ranges at once
3. Use the Files Changed tab instead of the Conversation tab for better line selection control

Better approach:

Use GitHub CLI for batch comments if you're reviewing large PRs:

gh pr review [PR-number] --comment -b "Your review comments"
