Request for Access to Advanced Copilot Models & Editor Suggestions After Second Student Verification

Hi everyone,

I recently renewed and re-verified my GitHub Student Developer Pack for the second time, and the verification was successful. However, after this second verification, my GitHub Copilot access appears to be reduced.

Currently:

• I can only access the Claude 4.5 Haiku model.
• Higher-tier Claude models (e.g., Sonnet) are no longer available.
• The “Enable (Workspace)” toggle for Copilot inline code suggestions in VS Code is disabled and cannot be activated.

Before renewing, these features were available to me under the student plan.

I would like to request clarification and assistance with the following:

1. Should the current Student Developer Pack still include full Copilot coding assistance (inline editor suggestions, workspace enable options)?
2. Are any advanced models (Claude Sonnet, etc.) included for students?
3. If these features are no longer part of the student benefits, is it possible for me to access them at a discounted or student-offer price, since I rely on them heavily for my academic and software engineering work?

I would greatly appreciate your help in reviewing my account permissions or advising on the best upgrade path.

The GitHub Community can’t access or adjust account-level permissions, including Student Developer Pack benefits or Copilot model access, so this needs to be reviewed directly by GitHub Support.

The current Student Pack does include Copilot, but it does not guarantee access to all advanced/enterprise-tier models (such as Claude Sonnet) or certain workspace features. When your plan renews, Copilot may switch back to the standard student entitlements.

To get a clear answer on what your account should have, and to restore Copilot features if they were removed in error, you’ll need to open a support ticket here:

Support is the only team that can check your verification, adjust your Copilot access, or explain available upgrade/discount options.

The waiting time may vary depending on different factors, such as the volume of requests; it usually takes a few days, but sometimes it can take a little longer, even a couple of weeks.

Once benefits become available, you can claim your Copilot PRO offer on this signup link.

To redeem others benefits, go to the pack offers page, scroll down to the "All offers" section and select any offer that suits you.

In case you encounter a problem claiming any offer, I recommend you raise a ticket here, select "I am a verified student having trouble redeeming my Global Campus offers" and explain your issue.
