i cant join github education

Hi everyone,

i wanna join github education plan but i dont know why my studental email diffrent with which is on github so i cant be approved

what should i do?

You need to make sure the email in your GitHub account matches your official student email.
You can add your student email in Settings → Emails, verify it, and then try applying again.
If the school domain is not recognized, you can upload your student ID for manual review.

i added my email that university me and verify it but it said your email match another university Qom azad university im in sience and research branch of tehran ,not making problem if i choose qom or what should i do for this problem

Hello, GitHub Education doesn’t approve schools based on the name you select (it approves them based on your email domain) so your university branch (Science & Research, Tehran) requires:

• @srbiau.ac.ir
• @mail.iau.ir

But the email you’re using is @iau.ir that means this domain belongs to another Azad University campus (Qom) so GitHub automatically matches it there. Because of that mismatch, your application cannot be approved.

You might want to ask your university IT department whether you have access to @srbiau.ac.ir or @mail.iau.ir, if they give you access to those domains then you can just re-apply. Otherwise you'll have to open a support ticket to GitHub Education here:

And tell them:

• Your university branch, correct student email
• Screenshot of your student ID or enrollment proof
• Screenshot showing the wrong domain being assigned to Qom branch
• Request them to add @iau.ir to the correct campus (Tehran Science & Research)

GitHub Support can update the mapping manually if you provide official proof !

hey there! I have a slightly similar issue, I can't register because my district has a email filter list, although, I have a valid Student ID, Transcript, and other documents to prove I'm a student. Please help me out!
