Accidentally entered the wrong country for the billing address

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, I entered the wrong country (Syria instead of Switzerland) when entering my billing address. I wanted to change this immediately, but unfortunately I can't because there is no edit button. I also get the following error message:

"Sorry, you can't update your billing information at this time.
There appears to be an issue with the billing information. We're looking into it and will send you an update within 48 hours. Thank you for your patience."

Should I just wait 48 hours, or what should I do? Is there a quicker solution to this problem?

that message means github locked your billing info temporarily because of the country change. it usually resets automatically within 48 hours while their system checks the issue.
you can:
wait the full 48 hours, then try again to edit your billing address.
if the error still appears after that, contact (https://support.github.com/contact?tags=billing), they can manually fix or reset your billing info.
so yes, waiting is the right move for now, but if nothing changes after 2 days, reach out to support for a faster fix.

You’ll need to wait for the 48-hour review period. That message means the billing system has locked your account temporarily for verification, and manual intervention is required. If the issue persists after 48 hours, contact GitHub Support directly via [GitHub Support → Billing](https://support.github.com/contact) to have them correct the country on your billing profile. There’s no faster self-service option.
