Hey Shyam, Losing your 2FA device is a tough situation, but don't worry, you can definitely recover your account. GitHub has official methods for exactly this scenario. Method 1: Use Your Recovery Codes (The Fastest Way) Go to the GitHub login page and enter your username and password. When it asks for your 2FA code, look for a link that says "Use a recovery code" or "Having problems?". Enter one of your unused recovery codes to log in immediately. If you can find your saved codes, this is the quickest way back into your account. Method 2: Start an Account Recovery Request (If you lost your codes) Go directly to this link: https://docs.github.com/en/authentication/securing-your-account-with-two-factor-authentication-2fa/recovering-your-account-if-you-lose-your-2fa-credentials Follow the on-screen instructions. GitHub will ask you to verify your identity to ensure you are the real owner of the account. This process is designed to be secure, so it may take a few days to complete. You will receive an email at your account's primary email address with further instructions. This is the official, secure way to regain access if your codes are lost. There is no other method, as bypassing 2FA would be a major security risk. Once you're back in: Hope this helps you get your account back! |

Hi @ShyamBhe 👋 If you’ve lost access to your two-factor authentication (2FA) credentials, you can regain access to your account by using your recovery codes or another recovery option. Please visit GitHub’s Virtual Assistant to explore your available options. If GitHub doesn’t support 2FA via text message in your country, you’ll need to set up authentication using a TOTP application. For more information on configuring 2FA with a TOTP app, here is the documentation. I highly recommend you read through our GitHub 2FA Troubleshooting & Prevention Guide 🔐 or visit our FAQ if you have additional questions. If you’re unable to resolve your issue with the resources above, please open a ticket in our Support Portal as no other Community Discussions team members will be able to assist with account-related questions. We appreciate your understanding! |

it is really a tough situation your best shot is finding the recovery codes GitHub gave you when you first set up 2FA. Check if you saved them in a password manager, a text file, or even in your downloads folder, because using one of those is the only fast way back in if you don't have them you'll have to go through the official GitHub account recovery process but just a heads-up it can take a really long time to prove it's you. Really hope you can find those codes man try bro might work |
