Add XMPP URI support (RFC5122)

In first, I wish you a Happy New Year 2022!

Can you see for add XMPP URI support?
XMPP URI support must be added because there actually a problem, it is detected "mailto".

Examples:

• xmpp:[email protected]
• xmpp:[email protected]?message
• xmpp:[email protected]?join

It is a standard:

• RFC5122: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5122

A long time ago, @github used HTML Pipeline, I have added in 2.10.
-> https://github.com/jch/html-pipeline

But now, you use closed softwares.

Can you update it and solves this big bug?

Hi @Neustradamus. This issue has been partially fixed. You can now type any of the following into Markdown and they will be converted correctly:

[xmpp address](xmpp:[email protected])
[xmpp address](xmpp:[email protected]/join)
<a href="xmpp:[email protected]">xmpp address</a>

However, the addresses are still incorrectly converted into mailto:// links. Fixing that is taking longer than expected, but we're working on it. Thanks for your patience!
