This namespace provides best practices guidance for building AI applications and agents in Azure.

Proposed new tool:

azmcp-get-agent-bestpractices-get
The associated tool offers actionable recommendations for developers before generating code for any AI apps/agents in Azure. It recommends developing with Azure AI Foundry models, working with the Microsoft Agent Framework, or implementing AI agents within Azure AI Foundry. It is intended to be used when users are coding AI apps/agents in Azure.

Use cases of this tool in GitHub Copilot:

• Write a simple console app that tells a joke about a given topic using an AI Foundry model.
• Create an AI app to help manage travel queries in Azure (e.g., booking, itinerary management, recommendations).

Hi @XiaofuHuang, thanks for your interest on contributing. There is an existing namespace get_bestpractices, which seems to me a great fit for adding agent code generation best practices. The existing get command in that namespace has parameters to direct the content of the return. Please experiment with that command and let me know if you encounter any difficulties.

When thinking about adding new capabilities to Azure MCP, our principle is that only add a new namespace or tool if none of the existing ones is a good fit.

Should we ask users to clarify between app using Agent Framework vs. app using AI Foundry Agent SDK? Or should we take an opinionated approach and favor one over the other? If we support both scenarios, I can foresee LLMs confusing these two kinds of apps when asked to generate an AI/Agent app without specifying the underlying technology.

Also, do you have the content used in the demo available in a dev branch? Like Fan said, ideally we reuse the existing namespaces to host them. We can help you determine if they fit in the existing get_bestpractices namespace or should they belong to a new namespace.
