My application exposes a /metrics endpoint to provide prometheus metrics. I have setup grafana-alloy as an accessory to perform the scrape and forward to grafana cloud. At the moment my configuration uses the public internet name of my application to be able to perform the scrape.
Kamal sets up a dynamic name for the application container on each new deploy. I can't sort out a way to use the docker network that kamal creates for the scrape. I don't want to gather metrics through kamal-proxy, I just want my alloy container to network directly to my application container.
I did find #731 which suggests holding VERSION constant. That doesn't seem like a good approach. Is there any impact to forward or backward deploys doing this?
